New features and device types in Matter 1.2

Matter 1.2 update includes multiple new device types and functional expansions, including washing machines, refrigerators, dishwashers, indoor air conditioners, robotic vacuum cleaners, air quality sensors, air purifiers, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and fans. Additionally, Matter 1.2 has improved its core specifications by adding intermittent connection device monitoring and operational status clusters, as well as enhancing test harnesses, controller test cases, and further automation of scripts.

As an authorized third - party testing organization of the CSA, UL Solutions has been providing testing services for Matter - enabled connected smart devices since the CSA launched Matter in October 2022.
